1st Line Customer Support & Junior IT Infrastructure Engineer

We are seeking to recruit a 1st Line Customer Support & Junior Infrastructure Engineer to work within the small friendly team that manages our IT infrastructure.

The successful applicant will be customer focussed, thorough with excellent attention to detail and take pride in great written and verbal communication skills. These skills are more important than possessing technical knowledge, but a desire and ability to learn about the following technologies as part of the role is also essential:

  • Working with Helpdesk / Ticketing systems
  • Microsoft Windows Server Setup & Management
  • Active Directory User Account & Privilege Management
  • Setup / Management of Email Accounts (POP3 & Exchange)
  • Internet Information Server administration
  • Microsoft SQL Server administration
  • Basic TCP/IP (IP Addressing / Subnets / basic Routing principles)
  • Basic Networking Appliances (Router / Firewall / Switch setup and Administration)
  • Security Appliances / Firewalling / Intrusion Detection and Prevention
  • Linux Server Administration / Command Shell
  • Apache / MySQL knowledge

The role presents the opportunity to learn about these technologies as part of day to day duties which will include working closely with both internal staff and external customers, processing incoming support requests for the team, and ensuring these are fully logged, actioned, and responded to, within Service Level Agreements where appropriate.

Additional responsibilities will include daily operational tasks which ensure the hosting environment is not only secure and reliable but also operating in compliance with established business processes.

The role has core hours of 9am – 5:30pm (with 1 hour for lunch), Mondays to Fridays. There will also be some occasions where it may be necessary to take out of hours support calls, though these are rare, and generous overtime rates are provided to cover.

The successful applicant should live within 30 minutes’ drive of the Ickford Office, and once trained, will be required to occasionally travel to our hosting facility in London Telehouse, so the successful applicant should either have a full driving license and car or be willing to achieve this as soon as they are able.

ASP.NET MVC website developer

We are looking to recruit an .NET programmer to join our technical team, and assist in design and development of database driven websites. Experience of ASP.NET (preferably MVC) and databases would be very useful, though not essential as we are happy to consider training a junior applicant. At a minimum you will require basic HTML and CSS knowledge.

Key skills/ experience includes:

  • Visual Studio
  • ASP.NET (preferably MVC)
  • SQL Server
  • Umbraco (beneficial but not essential)
  • HTML 5
  • SASS/ CSS
  • JavaScript/ JQuery/ Angular

This is a client facing role, so you must be well presented and have good communication skills, and be able to work well within a team environment.
